Membership and Weddings

Adult Membership: We welcome as members all who are intentional about worshipping regularly. We understand participation in worship as the key ingredient of adult membership. Those adults who elect to become members, after they have been worshipping with our congregation for a season, are invited to attend a brief “Membership Orientation Program” after which they are welcomed, formally, as members. Our goal is never to make membership difficult. Rather it is to help people check their own intentions and motives for desiring membership. These adult membership programs are offered about four times a year and are regularly published.

Weddings: Weddings are an opportunity for our church to be of service to both members and others in our community. People do not need to be members in order to be married in our church. Of course, this is not because we view membership as unimportant. Rather, it is out of our desire to be of service to others at a critical moment in their lives. We encourage those planning to be married at our church to worship with us regularly from the time they reserve a date for their wedding until they are married. We also insist on having three opportunities to meet with bride and groom prior to their wedding. Our goal is to assist the couple to make the wedding service a joyous celebration in which God’s presence is anticipated and experienced for them and for their guests.
