We believe that preparing couples for successful, happy, lasting marriages is a vital part of the church’s ministry and we take it very seriously. If you don’t have a church home, a wedding can be an important step in establishing a lasting connection to a faith community. So as you think about this special day, we hope you’ll take some time to talk together about what kind of church you are looking for to help your family on your spiritual journey. Do some research. Come and attend for a few Sundays to see whether Medford UMC might be a good fit for you.

If you want to explore the possibility of having one of our pastors conduct your marriage ceremony at Medford United Methodist Church or at another venue, please contact the church office to begin a conversation. Be sure to start this process at least six months before your wedding date. This allows enough time to do the required pre-marital counseling at a more relaxed pace.

Couples find that the pre-marital counseling helps them to grow in their relationship with God and each other. Typically, a couple will meet with the pastor for three to four 90-minute sessions, during which we talk about faith, family, finances, how to deal with conflict, life goals, and all the other issues that are involved in making a life-long commitment.

If you decide to have your wedding here at the church, a deposit is required to hold your wedding and rehearsal dates on our church calendar.

We look forward to speaking with you about these first steps of your lives together. May God bless your plan for your special day, and all the days that follow!
