28 Because the right to rule belongs to the Lord,
he rules all nations.
29 Indeed, all the earth’s powerful
will worship him;
all who are descending to the dust
will kneel before him;
my being also lives for him.
30 Future descendants will serve him;
generations to come will be told about my Lord.
31 They will proclaim God’s righteousness
to those not yet born,
telling them what God has done.
Reflection
Long ago, in a moment of complete surrender, I sensed God’s love and grace just for me. It was an “Ah-ha” moment in my spiritual walk with God. Still, it is actually hard to talk about, because my words pale in comparison to the presence I felt and heard through Jesus Christ. The moment is also hard to discuss because it is so personal and yet sometimes I still have questions and doubts. “Wait, what happened?” is what I find myself saying. However, I have determined that even when I shake my head in wonder, I must go forward in faith. In fact, we cannot prove or disprove the existence of God or God’s sovereignty one to another, but instead we must all go forward in faith. Particularly as a church, we go forward in faith together.
Faith is the feeling that carries us down through the ages and it helps us know God’s presence one to another. As a church, when we hear God in the holy scriptures or songs that resonate from a time long ago and far away, we know God. As a church, we know God in the fellowship and love felt for one another. As a church, we sense God’s sovereignty in the majesty of the rising and setting sun. As a church, even when we are not physically in close proximity to each other, we know that Our God is there with us. Finally as a church, we know there is a God through our collective prayers. There is a point where faith in God takes us further together than we can ever go alone.
Even if you have not yet felt a personal “Ah-ha” moment, let God’s church be your collective “Ah-ha.” Our shared faith in the One who holds our lives is our collective “Ah-ha.” Let our church be our collective moment and way of knowing God in all that we live, breathe and do.

Have you ever had an “Ah-ha” moment in which you felt or knew God’s presence? Perhaps you sense God as just a peaceful presence or understanding. Perhaps you still doubt because, sooner or later, we all do. Sometimes God’s grace may be something we sense later. What in your daily walk gives you pause and helps you to know God? What or who reminds you of God’s peace and grace?
Prayer: Almighty God, we pause to hear the words and ways that you speak to and through us. Thank you for your “Ah-ha” moments that draw us closer to you. Thank you for your church that helps us to be your collective message for the world. Help us to hear you, to know you and to sense your Holy Spirit in all that we do. Amen.
