Despite what sounds like a cheery sentiment, the Psalmist is anything but.

The word “fear” typically has a negative connotation. If we are fearful of something, it is usually because we have had a negative experience with the thing we are fearful of. So why does the Bible tell us that we are to fear the Lord? How can fearing the Lord lead to wisdom, peace, and rest?
